Your first guest is exciting
Hosting your first ViaPads guest is a milestone. With a little preparation, it'll go smoothly — and you'll want to do it again.
Before they arrive
Prepare your space
- Clear the parking area
- Test any amenities (water, power, restroom)
- Make sure the path is safe and well-lit
- Have your arrival instructions ready
Set expectations
Your listing already describes your space, but a quick message before arrival helps:
- Confirm the check-in time
- Remind them of any access details (gate code, where to park)
- Let them know if you'll be home to greet them
When they arrive
A warm welcome
- Greet them with a smile
- Walk them through the basics (where to park, amenities, restroom)
- Share a local tip or two (best coffee, quiet hours, nearby walk)
- Give them space to settle in
Keep it simple
You don't need to entertain. A warm hello and clear information is hospitality enough.
During the stay
Be available
- Respond to messages promptly
- Check in once (not constantly)
- Respect their privacy — follow their Social Mode lead
Common questions guests have
- Where's the nearest grocery store?
- Is the water safe to drink?
- What time is check-out?
- Can I have a fire?
When they leave
- A warm goodbye
- A gentle reminder to leave a review
- Check the site for anything left behind
- Leave them an honest review too
After your first guest
Congratulations — you've hosted your first traveler! Take a moment to reflect:
- What went well?
- What could be smoother next time?
- What did your guest enjoy most?
Each guest teaches you something. Your hosting will get better with every stay.
