Failed payments
A Booking is not confirmed until payment succeeds. If checkout fails or expires, ViaPads keeps the state truthful and releases the hold when appropriate.
If payment does not go through
A Booking is confirmed only after ViaPads successfully verifies payment.
Common reasons for a failed card payment include a bank decline, expired card, insufficient funds, or incorrect payment details.
What happens
- ViaPads does not mark the Booking confirmed.
- For an approved Request to Stay, the temporary payment window and inventory hold remain only until their stated deadline.
- If payment is not completed before the window expires, the unpaid Booking closes and the Pad dates can become available again.
What to do
Return to checkout and try a supported payment method, review the card details, or contact your card issuer if a decline is unexpected.
Available Travel Credits may be applied where checkout permits them.
