Scam prevention
Stay on-platform, verify identities, and never send money outside ViaPads.

Common scam tactics
Be aware of red flags such as:
- Off-platform payment — requests to pay outside ViaPads for a ViaPads Booking
- Pressure to bypass normal steps — urgency intended to avoid platform records or protections
- Requests for sensitive information — passwords, full card details, Social Security numbers, or unnecessary banking information
- Misrepresentation — Pad, identity, or Booking details that do not match what is shown in ViaPads
How ViaPads helps
- Secure payment flow — paid ViaPads Bookings are processed through Stripe
- Host identity verification — Hosts must complete required verification before publishing
- Platform records — Booking, payment, message, and payout records support review when something goes wrong
- Resolution and reporting tools — members can report genuine concerns and use the Resolution Center where applicable
Traveler identity verification is currently optional, so do not assume every Traveler has completed identity verification.
ViaPads does not describe Booking funds as escrow. Host payouts follow the published payout lifecycle.
What to do
Keep Booking-related payment and communication on ViaPads, protect sensitive information, and report suspicious behavior. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
