How identity verification works

ViaPads uses Stripe Identity when identity verification is required.

Who needs to verify

• Hosts — required before publishing a Pad
• Travelers — currently optional

If ViaPads later requires additional verification for a specific feature or risk case, the app will show that requirement clearly.

Privacy

Stripe handles the verification flow and underlying identity documents. ViaPads does not store the identity documents or ID numbers used in Stripe Identity.

Where appropriate, ViaPads may show that a member is verified, but other members do not see the underlying identity documents.
