Hosting safely

Clear Pad details, careful communication, Host verification, and good judgment help create safer stays.

Safer hosting practices

  • Review the Traveler profile — read the available profile, Setup, reviews, and Booking details before approving a Request to Stay.
  • Clear rules — set expectations for quiet hours, pets, arrival, and Pad use.
  • Good lighting and access — disclose hazards and make arrival instructions clear.
  • Emergency information — provide accurate local and Property safety information where appropriate.
  • Insurance and local rules — understand the coverage and requirements that apply to your Property.

Traveler identity verification is currently optional, so do not assume every Traveler has completed identity verification.

Communication

Keep Booking-related communication in ViaPads. Avoid moving payment or sensitive Booking arrangements off-platform.

Host trust signals

  • Complete required Host identity verification.
  • Keep Pad details accurate and current.
  • Respond respectfully and promptly.
  • Use reviews and ViaPads reporting tools responsibly.

For an immediate emergency, contact local emergency services. ViaSafe and the Resolution Center support different safety and post-Booking needs but do not replace emergency services.
