Local ordinances
Understand and follow local regulations for hosting overnight travelers.
Know your local rules
Before hosting, check the requirements that apply to your Property and location. Depending on where you live, that can include:
- zoning or land-use rules
- permits or business licenses
- HOA or association restrictions
- parking, occupancy, fire, sanitation, or noise requirements
- local or state tax obligations
Where to check
Useful sources can include your city or county planning department, local code office, state agencies, and your HOA or association documents when applicable.
Your responsibility
Hosts are responsible for complying with the laws and Property rules that apply to them. ViaPads can provide tools and general guidance, but it does not determine whether hosting is legally permitted at a specific Property.
Good neighbor practices
Keep noise and disruption low, stay within your Pad’s stated capacity, communicate clearly with Travelers, and keep access areas safe and orderly.
