What is Social Mode?

Social Mode is an optional preference that helps Travelers and Hosts express how much interaction they would enjoy. It is never an expectation.

Choices can include:

Private

“I prefer a quiet stay with little or no social interaction.”

Friendly

“I’m happy to chat if the opportunity naturally arises.”

Social

“I’d enjoy meeting people, sharing stories, or participating in community activities.”

Where Social Mode is shown, it is only a preference signal. It does not share precise location, itinerary, or private Booking information, and nobody should feel pressured to socialize.
