Do I need identity verification?

Traveler verification

Traveler identity verification is optional on ViaPads. Travelers can use ViaPads without completing Stripe Identity unless ViaPads later introduces a specific verification requirement for a particular feature or risk case.

Host verification

Hosts are different: Host identity verification is required before a Pad can be published.

Privacy

When Stripe Identity is used, Stripe handles the identity-verification flow. ViaPads does not store the underlying identity documents or ID numbers.

A verification badge or status may be shown where appropriate, but personal identity documents are not shared with other members.
